Science backs up total Movement Method

Don’t you love it when what you’ve been teaching is backed by research?  OK, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to learning about fitness, weight loss and how to best serve my clients.  I came across this article by the NY Post.  

Ways to lose a pound of fat

As a trainer, the first thing I often hear from potential clients is that they want to learn how to modify their diet and exercise to lose weight quickly.  Then the conversation turns to helping them understand that not all calories are made equal (a 2000 calorie meal at McD’s is not the same as a 2000 calorie meal from Mad Greens – gosh, can you even get one there?).  In order to sustain continued weight loss and tone up, it is imperative that you are lifting weights and gettng your crardio done.  According to the article, the best way to do that is combining HIIT and Strength Training.  Ta-da!  That’s what Total Movement Method is all about!

Flow – End the week with an athletic stretching class.  Use this class to recover from the week’s activities while sculpting your muscles…ahh….

These are all different to keep your body moving in ways it is not acustomed.  In fact, I believe that the more uncomfortable you are, the better it’s working!  

This 8 week program also includes a meal plan that works!  One client lost 4lbs and 4 inches in 2 weeks.  Another client lost 14lbs in 4 weeks.  And yet another client did 6hrs of yardwork without taking a nap afterward!!  Sucess shows itself in a variety of ways, are you paying attention?  Or are you beating yourself up for not achieving a goal you’re not even sure is attainable anymore?
